Every summer evening down in the holler, folks gather on porches with their fans flapping and glasses sweating. But no one’s porch was more famous than Miss Geneva’s. She made sweet tea so cold, so crisp, and so perfect, it was said to mend marriages, soothe old feuds, and silence even the nosiest gossip.
When Geneva passed, the town mourned—but not for long.
Because the tea kept showing up.
Not a soul could brew it quite right, but somehow, a pitcher would appear on her front porch swing every Sunday at dusk, filled to the brim and beading with condensation. No one dared touch it for months.
Then Jessamine came along.
