Hello and welcome to all of my new subscribers! What a lovely June it has been.
The only not-so-lovely thing? My website is experiencing some issues. I’ve moved my hosting to a different platform and there are kinks to work out.
But all of my stories are available at retailers, and I hope to report soon that my website is fully restored and you can once more log in. You can also grab my ebooks and merchandise here: Nyx's Cozy Shop
Thank you for your patience!

Hope you're hungry for a haunting—because this week's ghostly guest has a sweet tooth and no patience for shortcuts.
All June long, I’m sharing a weekly ghost story + Southern recipe just like I do in my new Cooking with Ghosts: Hauntingly Good Southern Recipes cookbook, inspired by my Confessions of a Closet Medium series. The cookbook is now available as an ebook at all retailers! 🎉
Dessert is the universal love language. It’s comfort and celebration, memory and magic. In my experience, the veil between worlds grows thinner with every teaspoon of vanilla and every broken eggshell.
As Ava would say in Confessions of a Closet Medium, “Ghosts have unfinished business, but sometimes, all they really want is a taste of home.”
So whether you're stirring pudding by moonlight or frosting cupcakes in the dead of night, remember: every bite has a story—and some stories don’t stay buried.
Thanks for letting these recipes haunt your kitchen!
This Week’s Haunting: Auntie Cora’s Peach Cobbler
When Ava took over the local bake sale booth, she didn’t expect it to come with a ghost. Auntie Cora, a fiercely proud baker, had passed years ago—but apparently her peach cobbler recipe hadn’t.
Every time Ava strayed from the original instructions, a mixing bowl flew across the room. It took a séance, a kitchen scale, and a bribe of peach schnapps to get Auntie Cora’s full approval.
🧀 This Week’s Recipe:
Rest in Peach Cobbler
Ingredients:
• 6 fresh peaches, peeled and sliced
• ¾ cup sugar
• ½ tsp cinnamon
• 1 stick butter
• 1 cup self-rising flour
• 1 cup milk
• ¾ cup sugar
Instructions:
1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
2. Melt butter in a 9x13 baking dish.
3. In a bowl, mix flour, milk, and second sugar portion until smooth.
4. Pour over melted butter (do not stir). Top with peaches mixed with cinnamon and sugar.
5. Bake 40–45 minutes until golden. Serve warm with ice cream—and a warning not to eat after midnight.
Ghostly Tip: Peaches too firm? Leave them by a windowsill overnight. Miss Cora’s spirit may soften them for you.
If your sweet tooth is tingling, remember this is part of my Cooking with Ghosts sneak peek celebration! Come July, these ghost stories + recipes become a paid annual perk.
